Szeman represents private lenders in connection with financing transactions, including private debt funds, business development companies, specialty finance companies, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds. She has experience in secured and unsecured mezzanine, fractional guarantees, portfolio companies and other transaction structures related to acquisition financing, leveraged buyouts, refinancings, dividend recapitalizations, cross-border financings, restructurings, forbearances and debtor-in-possession financings in various sectors. Mr. Szeman is co-chair of the firm`s Associate Board and a member of the firm`s Boston Hiring Committee. She is also a board member of Boston Explorers, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a unique summer camp experience for urban youth that combines hands-on activities with spontaneous adventures and explorations throughout the city. Szeman Lam is a partner in the Corporate department and a member of the Private Credit Group. Szeman received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and is a magna laude graduate of Duke University. During law school, she served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Law Review and advised start-ups on general corporate and financing matters through the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic.
